Three Cheers for International Travel

Peep this. I'm going to Spain - Sevilla to be exact.
Aight so yo. I'm going to blog about that.
It'll give me something to do and also give Matt Miller <3>
I'll post stuff and pictures and things.

In preparation, I'm going to get pumped.

*Rick Steves (YES)
So this guy is somewhat of a goof, but he has dominated the international scene with his dorkiness. Tons of books and a super fun show (sarcasm); but you can see were I'll be living for 5 months - reppin 7-0-4

I'll keep the blogosphere up-to-date with pre-travel and fun stuff (like if I get yelled at by some homeless guy under a bridge in DC - happened).

Tallest Man on Earth

Okay, so Tallest Man on Earth is coming to Asheville. Finding tickets to this Forsythia Hall was a challenge. After about a half an hour searching for this venue, I found a pretty cool website. It's called Brownpapertickets.com. The tickets are only $10 with a $1.99 service fee!! I called Harvest Records which I guess are the people putting on the show, and they said only 75 to 100 tickets will be sold (40 of which have already been sold). What could be better?

So here is a new track from Tallest Man on Earth's upcoming album 'The Wild Hunt' which should be out in April.
King of Spain

There is another single for sale on itunes, but definitely buy the album Shallow Grave if you haven't heard it. Our Swedish folk friend will be with the band Nurses. They are on the same label as Tallest Man which is Dead Oceans. Check out their website, because they have a lot of great bands (Bowerbirds, Califone, and more) and A LOT of free mp3s.

So also check out
Nurses

Flagship "Oil Field" Download

So I am a fan of Flagship. If you haven't heard of them, they're a local Charlotte band.
They have a big sound and a promising future. I've been checking to see if they have songs to download and I finally found one. It's the song "Oil field." It will be good for now, but I need a full-length album soon.

Music for the People

Hey, so I have been downloading free music from everywhere that I can find. Here are a couple of sites that I've found to be pretty great.

http://dailybeatz.com/ - They post new songs every day. Lots of good stuff.
Top 20 albums of 2009 - just right click and save an mp3 from each.

http://rcrdlbl.com/ - This is just a great site.

So here's a few bands w/ mp3's that I liked a lot:
And a podcast that I've followed for a while. You need to sift through it a lot, but when I look back I see a lot of my music taste has been influenced by it.

KEXP Song of the Day

So to the two people that look at this blog - enjoy. Till next time.
